School and afternoon care collaborating together are at the core of our establishment. Learning, playing, researching and exploring one’s surroundings are central to our afternoon teaching concept. As such, we offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities.
Morning and Afternoon Care Hours
Mondays – Fridays from 7:00 am - 8:00 am
and 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
During the holidays, the children are looked after from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
We offer the following afternoon activities at present:
In our Handicrafts studio, we create small works of art from scraps of fabric and colourful wool.
We can also be creative in the toy-making workshop or try out exciting artistic techniques in the ‘creative techniques’ club.
By experimenting with harmless daily objects, we are able to get to the bottom of exciting natural phenomena. In our afternoon club, we want to research the world, find correlations and interpret phenomena.
Children from Year 1 and 2 learn about the basics of making music together.
Pupils learn how to play string or keyboard instruments in groups or individually.
As part of our music workshop, pupils from Year 3 and 4 can find out how much fun it is to sing and make music together.
Cooking and baking:
In this afternoon club, pupils learn how to handle cooking utensils. They have basic mathematical experiences in measuring and weighing. We also attach great importance to the origin of the ingredients: organic quality and regional and seasonal products are always on the menu.
Music on. Mind off. Dance!
Together we move, dance and relax. We immerse ourselves in a world of movement with a colourful mix of break dance, ballet, modern dance, and acrobatics. The children become more acquainted with their bodies by partaking in games and dances which are developed together. What can they do, how do they move around the room and what to do with all that energy?
In cooperation with the Erfurt Fencing Club “En Garde e.V.”, pupils are given the chance to try out the sport of fencing once a week. We learn the basics of fencing, the combat techniques of the three disciplines (foil, épée and sabre) as well as strategic thinking.
Both girls and boys can take part. Fencing weapons, equipment and masks can be provided where necessary.
Pupils learn to deal with victory and defeat whilst building a sense of team spirit with their peers. We look forward to taking on more players in both our girls’ and boys’ football teams.
At Yoga Club, we experience relaxation at its purest. We listen to our bodies to find inner peace.
